As the only MakerBot Authorized Service Partner in Switzerland, we are obliged to undergo further training from time to time and prove our skills. Some time ago we were called to Stratasys in Germany, where MakerBot also has its EMEA headquarters, with the aim of getting to know the new MakerBot Method “inside and out”. Under the direction of R. Cruz (Technical Trainer) and L. Smith (Manager Customer Support) from MakerBot USA, all MakerBot Service Partners from the EMEA region were trained on the MakerBot Method for three days.
MakerBot Method Teardown
As a result, we learned many technical details about the machine. First theoretically with the help of many graphics and comparisons – especially with the technology of the parent company Stratasys. This showed impressively how much Stratasys know-how has been built into the new MakerBot Method. After all, it can be said that all the main components of this 3D printer were developed on the basis of Stratasys technology. We learned error codes and best practices as well as lots of tips and tricks.
We then moved on to the practical part. In small groups, we completely disassembled the MakerBot Method – until we only had the so-called “Ultra-Rigid Metal Frame” (the metal frame construction) in front of us.

Once completely dismantled, we were able to rebuild the MakerBot Method from the ground up and test its functionality at the end. This ensured that we would also be prepared to carry out repairs and service work on the MakerBot Method in the future, whether it was just a simple service or even the replacement of components or individual spare parts.
3D-EDU : MakerBot Authorized Service Partner Switzerland

In addition to the fact that we learned and took away a lot of new things, we were delighted to see old acquaintances again and to get to know a few new faces from nearby countries. We were also able to benefit from an exciting exchange with the other service partners and the two experts from MakerBot USA who flew in.
Thanks to this technical training and not least thanks to our collaboration with MakerBot since 2014, we can offer you the best service for your MakerBot 3D printers today and in the future. Accordingly, we carry out repairs and service work on all MakerBot 3D printers – including Replicator 2, Replicator 2X, Replicator 5th Gen, Replicator+ and Replicator Z18 and in future also for the MakerBot Method. We also have the most important spare parts for all these MakerBot 3D printers in our own warehouse and can order all available spare parts for you directly from MakerBot.
