The Formlabs Form 3L has five times the build volume and twice the laser power of the Formlabs Form 3, allowing you to print significantly larger parts or many small parts in a single print job.

3D printing of large objects or large quantities
The Formlabs Form 3L is so large that it can print many models in their original size. This means that prototypes can be produced 1:1 and then tested straight away.

Two precision light processing units in the printer achieve uniform precision and fine details across the entire build platform.
The new LFS™ technology enables the printing of large components
Formlabs further developed the SLA technology. The new Form 3L printer from Formlabs incorporates a new technology called Low-Force Stereolithography (LFS™). A new flexible resin tank reduces the forces involved in the peeling process and an improved “Light Process Unit” ensures faster and more precise curing during the printing process.

Double the laser power
The Formlabs Form 3L 3D printer contains two staggered light processing units (LPUs). These consist of two 250 mW lasers and a complex structure of lenses and mirrors. Accordingly, the fast and repeatable production of high-precision components is achieved.
Fast 3D printing
The two LPUs operate simultaneously. They follow an optimized print path that enables components of different sizes to be printed quickly.
Clean, sharp laser beam
In order to obtain sharp laser beams, both lasers are directed through a spatial filter.
Comprehensive precision
A parabolic mirror has been installed in the Formlabs Form 3L to ensure that the laser beam hits the build platform or print product vertically. For this reason, consistent quality can be guaranteed across the entire build platform.
Seamless printing
The Formlabs Form 3L monitors the printing process non-stop. This means you can focus on your core business. The sensors built into the 3D printer ensure optimum working conditions. The printer also informs you of its status.
Two material chutes
The Formlabs Form 3L 3D printer holds two resin cartridges. These are easy to replace and offer more capacity for uninterrupted printing processes with large-volume print jobs.
Closed-loop calibration
Optical sensors constantly monitor and correct the printing process and can even detect dust.
Replaceable elements
Various components of the printer such as the light process unit, the resin tank and the optics window are replaceable. Removal and installation can be carried out by the user. This eliminates downtime for repair shipments.

Print preparation
Create your 3D model in any CAD software. Then export it as an STL or OBJ file. Finally, you can import it into the Formlabs PreForm software and prepare it for printing at the click of a mouse.
Send your print jobs to the Formlabs Form 3L 3D printer via WLAN. You can manage previous print jobs and pending print jobs via the touchscreen on the printer.
Post-processing
The optimized support is easier to remove from the printed object. In addition, the post-processing process can be partially automated with the Form Wash and Form Cure.
Intuitive and efficient
No specialized technicians are required to operate the Formlabs Form 3L. The Form 3L is virtually maintenance-free. Its features include automatic resin dispensing, simple print preparation software and a carefully developed interface.
A 5.5-inch high-resolution color display with a touchscreen surface enables easy operation and provides continuous information about the printing progress and other status messages.
The free “PreForm” print preparation software has been tested on millions of prints. It automatically suggests the optimum alignment, support structures and layout, which can also be adjusted manually if required.

Non-stop printing
Whether you are increasing production volume for batch production or printing large parts, the Form 3L maintains ideal printing conditions for uninterrupted throughput with minimal supervision.
Thanks to the web-based dashboard, you can also control and manage your Formlabs 3D printers remotely.
The Draft Resin V2 balances detail and speed. With this material, parts can be produced up to 4 times faster. This saves you time with voluminous prototypes and enables faster iteration.
Light processing units, rollers, optical windows and other components can be replaced in-house or by our technicians at your site to ensure uninterrupted uptime.
High-resolution 3D printing
With the Formlabs Form 3L, you can also benefit from the high quality of SLA 3D printing for large format prints. The Form 3L offers the same smooth surface finish and fine detail that stereolithography 3D printing is known for.
Models printed on the Form 3L have a smooth surface that can be compared to injection molded parts. You can therefore produce realistic visual prototypes or end-use parts.
A system of lasers and mirrors ensures uniform print quality. This ensures uniform accuracy for an XY resolution of 25 micrometers across the entire build platform.
Thanks to precise layer accuracy and a smooth surface finish, translucent materials can be printed cleaner than ever before directly from the printer.
Many materials – one 3D printer
You can produce parts with around 20 technical resins on the Form 3L 3D printer. This allows you to cover many different applications on a single platform.
Quick material change
No filling or refilling: The quickly exchangeable and stowable cartridges and tanks enable very quick and clean material changes. The cartridges are also compatible with other SLA printers from Formlabs.
Automatic dispenser
The automated resin system dispenses resin while the parts are printing. The Form 3L has two resin cartridges to avoid interruptions in the middle of the printing process.

Formlabs currently offers around 20 different materials. Thanks to the compatible cartridge system (resin cartridges), you can easily alternate between the standard resins and special synthetic resins.
