3D printing for orthodontics
Watch videoAn easy and coherent workflow
The Formlabs Dental ecosystem offers a simple and clean workflow that can be implemented in any orthodontic practice or laboratory. It includes user-friendly preparation software, additional monitoring tools and automated post-processing.
1. 3D scanning
You receive the patient anatomy digitally from dentists via a 3D scanner or digitize impressions with a laboratory scanner.
2. digital planning
Process the scan data into a printable model, a dental application or a restoration design using the PreForm print preparation software or in your dental software.
- Formlabs 3D printers can be used with all CAD dental software that supports the export of STL data.
- Integration with 3Shape, ExoCAD and more
3. 3D printing
To set up printing, import the CAD files into the PreForm print preparation software and send them to a Formlabs printer.
- Easily exchange the materials and resin tanks for other applications.
- Start print jobs remotely while on the move.
4. post-processing
After printing, wash, dry and harden the printed parts. These parts can be used intraorally or for the fabrication of various indications.
- Save work, time and money with automatic post-processing
5. application
Use the parts directly or fabricate orthodontic appliances such as transparent aligners or retainers. You can use the 3D-printed models with your existing work processes and tools.
Lower costs with higher production volumes
The automatic resin dispensing through the cartridge and the large build platform of the Formlabs Form 3B enable the simultaneous production of more parts per print job. As a result, up to 55% less working time and costs are required compared to competitor 3D printers.
