Long awaited, the first delivery of the professional FDM 3D printer from XYZprinting Professional – the PartPro 300xT – has now arrived.

After an intensive training session on the machine lasting several days 3 weeks ago, we have now received the first delivery of the XYZprinting PartPro 300xT. And fortunately, we will be receiving further deliveries in the coming weeks. The majority of the machines from the first batch have already been sold out.

But why is the demand for this FDM 3D printer so high? We will explore this question in this article and reveal some interesting details about the printer. It will also become clear why this is a “professional” FDM 3D printer.

FDM 3D printers for professional users

This FDM 3D printer from XYZprinting Professional offers a range of features that make it interesting for professional users.

  • A construction volume of around 300 x 300 x 300 mm with single extrusion
  • and up to 195 x 270 x 300 mm with dual extrusion
  • Dual extrusion with water-soluble support material
  • A heated construction panel and a heated installation space
  • Dry box: Material spool box for 2x 3kg filament spools
  • A very simple software – based on the Consumer series
  • An interesting selection of materials, including ABS

In addition, this FDM 3D printer offers a layer resolution of 50 – 700 μm and, according to the manufacturer, an accuracy of ±0.0125 mm in the XY axis can be achieved.

All these features ensure reliability, user-friendliness and, above all, very dimensionally stable and solid components – with every print.

The alternative to Ultimaker S5 or Stratasys F120

In terms of price, the XYZprinting PartPro 300xt is on a par with the Ultimaker S5 at around CHF 6350.00 (excl. VAT). From a technical point of view, however, it is more comparable to the Stratasys F120 or other printers from the F series. In contrast to other desktop 3D printers, the PartPro 300xT impresses with its solid construction (shipping weight: 59 kg) and a protected and regulated filament system. After all, these two elements form the basis for the heated build chamber and for reliably precise printing results, even with demanding materials such as ABS.

A closed system?

The PartPro 300xT is a closed system ex works. This means that the materials are provided with a chip and only XYZprinting materials can be processed. Although this restricts the user to the materials specified by the manufacturer, process reliability is guaranteed. And XYZprinting not only offers very inexpensive printers, but also inexpensive materials.

ABS, PLA, Tough PLA, PETG and Carbon PLA will be available in June 2019. The water-soluble PVA support material will then be added in July 2019. Other filaments are also being planned for the PartPro 300 xT. These include very interesting materials such as a flexible TPE, nylon (PA) and carbon nylon. We do not know exactly when these will be available. However, we will be happy to keep you up to date.

Do you still need an open system – e.g. a 3D printer for your own special materials? We can help you with that too.
