In the last six months since J. Jaglom became CEO of MakerBot, he has been impressed by the passion and talent within the company and the community. Much has been accomplished as a team, but he has also faced great challenges. In recent quarters, MakerBot has been unable to achieve its ambitious goals and significant changes have had to be made to ensure MakerBot’s future success and growth. To lead our dynamic industry, MakerBot needed to get back to its entrepreneurial spirit and address its inadequate organizational structure.
The new CEO has had time to take a deep look at the business and understand the challenges in order to develop a plan for a strong future.
A lot of time was invested in evaluating the market and the needs of customers in order to develop strategic plans. Some decisions were not easy to make. MakerBot will have to part ways with some colleagues and thanks them for their work, commitment and contributions.
Significant changes have been made since the beginning of October. These include
– The reorganization of the teams and a 20% reduction in employees worldwide
– Replacing the leadership team to focus on our customers & the MakerBot 3D Ecosystem
– The relocation of the Research & Development team from Industry City Brooklyn to the MetroTech headquarters in Downtown Brooklyn. This will bring the teams closer together to improve collaboration and communication. The MakerBot Factory (production) will remain in Industry City Brooklyn.
– The creation of a defined product development plan that focuses on the creation of new products linked to the ecosystem
– Cooperation with a contract manufacturer who produces the 4th generation products. This should save costs and allow the team in Brooklin to focus on the current generation.
J. Jaglom also brought Kavita Vora on board as client manager so that she could develop a company and a culture that takes care of them. For him, customers are at the center. He has also strengthened the company with President Nadav Goshen. He and his team are focused on developing the ecosystem and improving the support & community. He will ensure that our product offering, the ecosystem and the brand work together perfectly.
To continue to be successful, customers, the community and employees are MakerBot’s top priority.
There will also be some changes at MakerBot Europe in the near future – but more on that another time…
You are still our focus and we will continue to do everything we can to offer you the best possible service. We are excited, confident and looking forward to the future with MakerBot.
