Formlabs Temporary CB Dental Resin Switzerland

Formlabs releases new dental resins for 3D printing impression trays and temporary crown and bridge appliances

Today we are delighted to introduce two new dental resins to the Formlabs Dental Materials range. Both can be processed on either the Formlabs Form 2 or the Formlabs Form 3B 3D printer.

Formlabs Temporary CB Resin

Temporary CB Resin was developed in collaboration with BEGO and is available in four VITA shades. With this resin you can directly print temporary crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and veneers. This robust resin creates up to seven-part bridges and temporary dental appliances and can be used for up to 12 months. The digital workflow facilitates a collaborative process between dental technicians, dentists and patients. Temporary CB Resin is printed with a layer thickness of 50 micrometers.

Formlabs Custom Tray Resin

Custom Tray Resin is a new, biocompatible material for custom impression trays. It has been designed for the direct printing of custom impression trays to ensure an even distribution of impression material and therefore accurate impressions can be taken. This makes it ideal for crowns and bridges, implants, dentures and other comprehensive cases.

Custom Tray Resin enables the rapid printing of impression trays with a layer thickness of 200 micrometers. This allows you to create an impression tray in less than an hour, reducing working time and increasing throughput.

To use Temporary CB and Custom Tray Resin, you need a biocompatible Formlabs SLA printer (Formlabs Form 2 or Form 3B) with the latest firmware PreForm software. For the Temporary CB Resin you also need a Stainless Steel build platform. This is included in the starter package. You will need a dedicated Resin Tank for the Form 3B and a Resin Tank LT for the Form 2. For cleaning, you will need either the Form Wash or the Finish Kit. The parts must then be cured with the Form Cure in order to develop the optimum mechanical properties.
