3D printing at school

Training in CAD and 3D printing at schools gives pupils an initial insight into the current possibilities for developing and designing things. These basics make the possibilities of a rapidly changing world of work (Industry 4.0) “tangible”. The jointly developed overall package DigitalGenial3D can also be used in other areas, e.g. training workshops and vocational schools.

The package includes a MakerBot Replicator+ with various additional accessories from Stratasys/MakerBot. A film from MedienLB about 3D printing in general, as well as a film from MedienLB describing in detail the construction of the enclosed 5 models with TinkerCAD, the free 3D modeling software from Autodesk. The solution is supplied in a high-quality, rollable flight case.

DVDs DigitalGenial3D

The 3D printing process opens up a whole new way of production. Whereas material was previously reduced in size and shaped by machining, with 3D printing it is gradually added layer by layer. The film shows exactly how 3D printing works and follows the path from the first draft on the computer to the finished object. A further chapter shows the various 3D printing processes and the workpiece properties that can be achieved with them. The ever-growing importance of 3D printing in the field of rapid prototyping (fast and cost-effective production of prototypes) and rapid manufacturing (fast and cost-effective production of small series) is the subject of the final chapter.

MAKERBOT EDUCATORS GUIDEBOOK

The new MakerBot Educators Guidebook is designed to support teachers in implementing 3D printing in the classroom. In addition to an introduction to 3D printing and how to use the machines, the new MakerBot textbook contains various projects that have already been carried out at other schools. This gives you the opportunity to pick up on existing projects or develop them further. The package includes the German version of this teaching aid.

SMART EXTRUDER+ & FILAMENT

Ensure minimal downtime and uninterrupted results with a replacement extruder. This is also included in the package. As the industry leader, MakerBot is the only brand to offer an easily replaceable extruder. With the two spools of PLA filament included in the package, you also have enough printing material to get started with your class right away.

TROLLY-CASE

The entire DigitalGenial3D package is supplied in a robust trolley case. This allows the 3D printer and accessories to be transported easily and safely. The case also provides the necessary base for the 3D printer during its use – in the classroom, workshop or wherever.
