Composed from the purest granules on the market

MakerBot PLA is a non-toxic material made from sugar, which is extracted from corn – a biodegradable plastic made from renewable raw materials.

It smells slightly sweet when heated.

Its colorants are food-safe and contain no heavy metals, phthalates or BPA.

Each color is extensively tested

Each color is subjected to long-term tests, which require 18-24 hours of printing time. This guarantees no deviations in color or quality – regardless of the printing time.

They are also tested at 100µ and 200µ layer height on all MakerBot 3D printers to ensure that they work and print reliably with all the capabilities that MakerBot Desktop offers.
