Due to the increased printing speed of the Model V3 Resin, the total volume of orders that can be processed per day has also been increased. With the Formlabs Dental Model V3 Resin, dental labs can print models for up to 4 cases in less than 2.5 hours – twice as fast as the previous Model V2 Resin.

Model V3 Resin – Better performance & user-friendliness

The new Fit Tuning Test further enhances the performance of Model V3 Resin. This test allows dentists and dental technicians to finely calibrate their printers. This ensures optimum dimensional accuracy. Normally, no on-site calibration is required due to the stringent factory calibration of each Formlabs printer. However, since applications such as restorative models require the highest precision, users can accurately set the desired results with a single test print. The Formlabs Model Resin and Formlabs SLA 3D printers have always been known for their high accuracy. Now professionals can go one step further: Because with the Fit Tuning Test, each individual device can be tuned specifically to its environment and their needs.

Various dental technicians who were involved in the development as beta testers have already experienced these improvements at first hand. In short, they are now adopting the new Model V3 Resin as their preferred material for restorative models of all kinds. This is because Model Resin V3 builds on the already proven Model Resin V2, which they have been using for years. However, printing and post-processing is much faster without losing precision. This makes the material the preferred choice.

However, the printing time is not the only criterion that speaks in favor of the Model V3 Resin. The time required for post-processing has also been reduced by 66% compared to Model V2 Resin. This increases the speed and throughput of the entire production process. The Formlabs Model V3 Resin now only requires 15 minutes for post-processing; 10 minutes for cleaning in the Form Wash and 5 minutes for curing in the Form Cure.

The Model V3 Resin offers two additional features that further simplify the workflow: On the one hand, the printed models are easier to remove from the building platform. On the other hand, the color stability has been improved. As a result, the pigment no longer settles in the resin container during storage and any faults are prevented. These two improvements enable even more precise parts and increased reliability, even with irregular use.
