The PLA Precision filament made from polylactic acid (PLA) is a biodegradable thermoplastic made from renewable raw materials. This material is also suitable for use in the office as it is non-toxic and easy to print. MakerBot precision PLA material is matched to the slicing algorithm of the MakerBot Print software to give you the best printing results and highest quality. PLA printed objects are ideal for early stages of concept modeling and shape studies.

Spool type
The Smart Spool™ provides valuable information on material type, color and remaining quantity directly to the MakerBot Print software via an RFID chip. A desiccant in the spool also ensures a low moisture content in the material shaft of the MakerBot Method 3D printer.
Working environment
Store the MakerBot Precision PLA material in the included polyester bag to prevent moisture absorption from the air. Absorbing moisture from the air can affect the material quality and its performance. Make sure the built-in desiccant is in the spool to absorb moisture during the material loading process.
