MakerBot ASA Precision Model Material for the MakerBot Method X

MakerBot Precision ASA is a weather-resistant 3D printing material designed to produce high-performance functional prototypes and end-use parts in demanding outdoor environments. Unlike ABS, ASA has a formulation with high UV resistance that helps to maintain gloss, color and mechanical properties – even when exposed to the elements outdoors for extended periods. It is therefore suitable for demanding applications in the automotive, energy and utilities, agriculture, oil and gas and mass transit industries. The material is compatible with the soluble carrier material SR-30.

To use the MakerBot ASA Precision Material, the software MakerBot Print software is required.

Spool type
The Smart Spool™ provides valuable information on material type, color and remaining quantity directly to the MakerBot Print software via an RFID chip. A desiccant in the spool also ensures a low moisture content in the material shaft of the MakerBot Method 3D printer.

Working environment
Store the MakerBot Precision ASA material in the polyester bag provided to prevent it from absorbing moisture from the air. The absorption of moisture from the air can affect the material quality and its performance. Make sure the built-in desiccant is in the spool to absorb moisture during the material loading process.
