The next version of MakerBot Desktop and the MakerBot firmware is here. Install the software and firmware right away to benefit from the latest improvements and enhancements.

Say “goodbye” to manual updates
As promisedan “auto-update” feature has now been added to this version of MakerBot Desktop. So after downloading MakerBot Desktop 3.5, you will be able to unlock updates and bug fixes without having to check for updates. (Unless your computer is offline.)

For the time being, however, you will have to update the MakerBot firmware manually. To do this, simply select “Devices” in the MakerBot Desktop menu bar and then “Upgrade Firmware”.

PLEASE NOTE: If you print files via USB stick, the printer’s built-in memory or from your library, you should first reslice them with MakerBot Desktop to achieve the best printing results. Files that have not been resliced will not produce the best results.

Laying the foundation for “printing on the go”
The ability to print, monitor and control your MakerBot Replicator 3D printer via MakerBot Mobile from anywhere via 3G or 4G connection is now here. The new version of MakerBot Desktop and the MakerBot firmware include the necessary updates.

Two more features
MakerBot Desktop 3.5 has also been equipped with a new “Device Preferences” paneland the option to adjust the temperature of the MakerBot Smart Extruder in the “Print Settings” has been enabled again.
