The long-awaited MakerBot Desktop Software version 3.4 has been available since yesterday.
As always, this means an improvement in print quality and prevents potential problems.
You can download version 3.4 from the following link:

The new version 3.4 can now be installed on the Mac OS, Windows 7 and Windows 8.0 operating systems. Drivers are still being tested for Windows 8.1. An update to enable this will be available shortly.
The print quality was also improved by enhancing the control and tuning of the motors. Among other things, curves and corners should become more precise and printing times should be shortened.
A new adjustment tool, which can be found under Devices -> Device Preferences -> z-axis offset, is intended to solve adjustment problems. Use this tool if you have problems with the quality of the “raft” and the first print layers or if you hear “clicking” noises during printing.
It is now also possible to specify a static IP address. This also simplifies the integration of the printers into a network. In addition, it is no longer necessary to start the print by confirming on the device, but you can now do this directly via MakerBot Desktop or MakerBot Mobile as long as you are in the same (Wi-Fi) network. In the print preview, you can use the camera to check whether the build platform is free before starting the print.
An “auto-update” feature is planned for the next update, which should save us all some work.
We will keep you up to date!
