Precision Model

Precision Model Resin

Precision Model Resin is a highly accurate material for the fabrication of dental prosthesis models where the printed surface lies within a tolerance range of 100 μm to the digital model at > 99 %. Create aesthetic models with sharp margin lines thanks to its high opacity, beige color and smooth, matte surface finish that also reproduces fine details.

Precision Model Resin is the successor to Model Resin, which prints three times faster thanks to the Form 4B, delivering greater accuracy and improved aesthetics.

Create restorative models where over 99% of the printed surface is within 100 μm of the design parameters.

Precision Model Resin

For dental prosthesis models printed on the Form 4B with a layer height of 50 μm from Precision Model Resin, 99.7% of the printed surface is within 100 μm of the CAD model and 95% of the printed surface is within 50 μm of the CAD model. The minimal variability and high uniformity between printers and print batches across the entire design platform ensures reliable production of high-precision models.

Material properties of post-cured printed parts
Precision Model Resin
Maximum tensile strength 50.0 MPa
Tensile modulus 2.2 GPa
Elongation at break 8,6 %
Flexural strength 87 MPa
Flexural modulus 2.3 GPa
Impact strength according to Izod 32 J/m
Impact strength according to Izod (unnotched sample) 262 J/m

Precision Model Resin

Precision Model Resin is a tougher, stronger, stiffer and more impact-resistant material than its predecessor Model Resin. Post-cured pressure parts made of Precision Model Resin therefore do not break as easily. The improved toughness ensures greater fracture resistance when pressing in dies or implant analogs.

Dental Model Resin

formlabs-dental-model-resin

Formlabs Dental Model Resin

This resin was specially developed for the fabrication of crown and bridge models with removable dies. It is a high-precision resin that allows you to create preparation margins and contact points within +/- 35µm tolerance and dies with a consistently tight fit. The smooth, matt surface and the same hardness and color values as plaster models also make it easier to switch from analog to digital model production.

Dental Model Resin

A detailed study of the dental model resin showed that the printed parts have a dimensional accuracy of ± 35 µm for over 80% of the surfaces, and 25 or 50 µm for printing with layer resolution. With the same layer resolution, the overall accuracy for full-arch drilling templates is in the range of ± 100 µm for 80% of the surfaces.

Dental Model Resin

  • Print exact preparation margins and contact points with ± 35 µm dimensional accuracy at 25 µm layer thickness
  • Achieve smooth surfaces with the same hardness and color values as conventional plaster models
  • Insert removable residual limbs with a continuous tight fit

Fast Model

Fast Model Resin

Fast Model Resin is a fast-printing resin that offers high throughput and fast turnaround times for applications such as aligner models. Print 11 spiders in a 9-minute print job with a surface that is 95% within 100 μm of the CAD model.

Fast Model Resin is the next generation of Draft Resin, but prints three times faster thanks to the Form 4 ecosystem. Choose Draft Resin from the Form 2 and Form 3/B/+ for printing models for thermoforming.

Draft V2

Formlabs Dental Draft V2 Resin

Formlabs Draft V2 Resin

Draft V2 Resin is an innovative material for fast 3D printing of precise orthodontic models. Draft V2 Resin currently has the shortest printing time. A dental model can be printed in under 20 minutes. Despite the fast printing time, high-precision models with a smooth surface finish are achieved. This makes it suitable for the fabrication of aligners and retainers. With a layer height of 200 micrometers, you get the shortest printing time and can therefore produce models for applications on the same day. For more detailed models, use the layer height of 100 micrometers.

Standard Grey Resin

Formlabs Standard Grey Resin

The fine, matt surface finish of the gray standard resin allows the finest details to be seen. It is therefore ideal for a wide range of dental applications. These include, for example, orthodontic and diagnostic models, models for training or as a mold plate for thermoforming aligners or other appliances.
