3D printing for schoolgirl on National Future Day

My visit to Scheuss & Partner AG

On 10.11.16, I (Lisa H.) was able to pay a particularly exciting visit to Scheuss & Partner. I became aware of this company because of my godfather (D. Villiger). Because of the National Future Day, I had the opportunity to spend half a day here. This future day takes place once a year. It’s almost the same as a taster, except that you have to visit a family member’s job.

Computer scientists, the cloud and sales

I took a tour of the business in the morning. First, I looked at the IT specialists who install computers or the Internet, for example. Later, Mr. S. Sitil showed me the “Publicloud”. It was very impressive to see what possibilities there are for operating IT in the data center (cloud). For example, if you don’t have your own IT, you can rent storage space or a “cloud solution” from this company.

I was also allowed to see how orders are created for customers and how invoices are sent.

3D printing for pupils

At the end I was able to learn something about the 3D printer from C. Gygax. I was even allowed to create my own little figure on the computer. An instruction video from 3d-edu.ch helped me with this. In the end it was a small building block – comparable to LEGO. I was even allowed to print it out!!! The machine took about 1 hour 20 minutes until the building block was finished.

The time went by very quickly and soon it was time to leave. It was a very exciting and instructive day for me.
Thanks for everything!

Lisa H.
