PETG filament for the MakerBot Method is suitable for printing high-performance parts that require excellent durability as well as temperature, moisture and chemical resistance. With MakerBot PETG filament, you can create durable prints for industrial applications such as functional prototypes, fixtures or consumer parts.

To use the MakerBot PETG Specialty Material, the software MakerBot Print software is required.

Spool type
The Smart Spool™ provides valuable information on material type, color and remaining quantity directly to the MakerBot Print software via an RFID chip. A desiccant in the spool also ensures a low moisture content in the material shaft of the MakerBot Method 3D printer.

Specialty Material User Note
Specialty Materials offer basic printing performance. However, additional steps may be required to print successfully. The PETG Specialty Material requires the application of glue stick to the build plate prior to printing.

Working environment
Store the MakerBot Precision PLA material in the included polyester bag to prevent moisture absorption from the air. Absorbing moisture from the air can affect the material quality and its performance. Make sure the built-in desiccant is in the spool to absorb moisture during the material loading process.
