The matt, neutral gray synthetic resin is perfect for all prototyping and design applications. Small details are particularly visible with this synthetic resin.
Grey Resin V4.1 is compatible with Form 3 series printers. Grey Resin V4.1 produces tougher parts than the outdated Grey Resin V4 version. Grey Resin V4.0 and Grey Resin V4.1 have different formulations and pressure settings – for optimum performance, the two materials should not be mixed.
How to change from Grey Resin V4.0 to Grey Resin V.4.1 ?
- Print all your existing Grey Resin V4.0 material.
- Clean your resin container (it does not need to be cleaned with IPA. It is sufficient to scrape out the existing resin with a plastic scraper).
- Start a print with a Grey Resin V4.1 cartridge and select the Grey Resin V4.1 settings in PreForm.
- The printer recognizes that the tank does not fit and asks if you want to reprogram the tank.
Confirm on the printer’s user interface and the Grey Resin V4.0 tank will be reprogrammed to Grey Resin v4.1.

Formlabs Grey Resin 1L cartridge V4.1
Formlabs Grey Resin is suitable for SLA 3D printing of strong, precise concept models and prototypes. It is one of the standard resins within the Formlabs material library. This gray Formlabs resin has a matte surface finish. The material is opaque and reproduces the finest details. Models made from Formlabs Grey Resin are ready for use immediately after printing. The neutral gray is also suitable as a good base for parts that are to be subsequently painted or subjected to other finishing processes.
Gray resin is perfect for general prototyping and design purposes and is excellent at reproducing small details.
