Tough 1000 Resin is a ductile, impact resistant material with strength, stiffness and toughness comparable to hard polyethylene (HDPE). It has excellent wear and fatigue resistance for long-term usability.

Its elongation at break of 180% and Gardner impact strength of 14.5 J exceed those of HDPE. This makes the material ideal for parts that can withstand bending, compression or deformation without cracking. Hinges and functional parts can withstand repeated stress and wear thanks to a fracture energy of 3200 ^J/m2 and a Ross flexural fatigue strength of > 100,000 cycles (at 23 °C). Tough 1000 Resin has a matte, dark grey color and is intended for applications that require smooth, low-friction surfaces.

Tough 1000 Resin is a new material formulation that offers 5 times higher fracture toughness, 2 times higher elongation at break and better temperature, creep and ageing resistance than Durable Resin thanks to the technology of the Form 4 printer series.

Available for Form 4, Form 4B and Form 4L when used with the Formlabs Resin Pumping System.
