Stereolithography (SLA) is revolutionized by Formlabs LFS technology

The Formlabs Form 3L incorporates a new technology called LFS (Low Force Stereolithography). A flexible resin tank and a further developed exposure unit (Light Processing Unit) form the center of this technology. The flexible tank allows a rapid flow of resin during the printing process. This tank also reduces the forces that occur during the printing process (peeling process). The improved Light Processing Unit (LPU) consists of a complex structure of lenses, mirrors and filters. These ensure a clean laser beam that is directed vertically into the build space. As a result, the printing process is more reliable, precise and repeatable.
Two LPUs were installed in the Formlabs Form 3L so that even large objects or large quantities can be produced quickly.

High-resolution 3D printing without interruption

The Formlabs Form 3L offers a very large print volume of 335 x 200 x 300 mm. Despite this, it impresses with its very high XY resolution, speed and reliability. The Form 3L offers an XY resolution of up to 25 µm. An extensive system of optical sensors monitors and ensures that optimum conditions are maintained during the printing process. Sensors also ensure the dimensional accuracy of the components. They are so precise that they can even detect dust.

Improved user-friendliness and a wide range of materials

The Formlabs synthetic resins (resin) can also be used on the Formlabs Form 3L. This allows you to benefit from proven material management and a remarkably extensive range of materials.
Like the Formlabs Form 3, the Formlabs Form 3L has a modular design. This means that individual modules can be replaced by the user, which massively reduces downtime due to repairs.

Light-Touch Support Structures

The so-called Light-Touch Support Structures additionally simplify the post-processing of printed products from the Formlabs Form 3L. These support structures, which can be easily removed by hand, enable faster post-processing.
