PETG 1.75 mm filament (PET-G)
PET-G filaments 1.75mm are made from a special polymer that meets the requirements for contact with or storage of food (containers, etc.). For example, cups, storage containers or other accessories can be printed and used with it.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a thermoplastic from the polyester family produced by polycondensation. PET has a wide range of applications and is used in the production of plastic bottles (PET bottles), films and textile fibers, among other things.
PET-G is a PET modified with glycols which is characterized by its viscosity and is therefore particularly suitable for FDM 3D printing.
PET filaments are very robust and transparent. Compared to nylon PA6, T-Glase is very stiff.
Printing recommendations
- To print the PETG filament, we recommend the MakerBot Experimental Extruder.
- The ideal layer height is between 0.10 – 0.20 mm.
- Apply water-soluble glue stick for adhesion to the building board.
- Pressure temperature: 200-245°C
- Installation room temperature: 35-45°C
The Experimental Extruder is compatible with the
- Makerbot Replicator+
- MakerBot Replicator 5th Generation
- MakerBot Replicator Z18
*The Experimental Extruder, third party materials and print recommendations are experimental products and are not covered by warranty or MakerCare. 3D-EDU GmbH disclaims all liability.
